According to Experienced Makeup Artists Listed Below Are the 13 Most Popular Summer 2023 Makeup Trend

I will never pass up the opportunity to try out a cutting-edge makeup technique

I will never pass up the opportunity to try out a cutting-edge makeup technique. Eyeliner done in a graphic style? It was for the college lecture that I had that day, and I wore it. Siren eyes? I presented it to the public for the first time at the bar, where I was showered with praise. Eyes of a rainbow rendered in watercolor? I probably have a dozen different eyeshadow palettes, so I can pull off any look. In light of all of this, I have been carefully planning my upcoming looks based on the summer 2023 makeup trends, and I am pleased to report that this year's crop of makeup products is particularly impressive. I'm getting extremely excited (not only for the makeup, but also for sunshine and dress season), so I rounded up the top summer 2023 makeup trends, according to makeup artist Sean Harris, along with some product recommendations. We are talking about glittery brows, dewy cheekbones, bright lips, and more of these types of features. And for those of you who are new to the world of makeup, have no fear: I also consulted professional makeup artists Lori Taylor Davis and Harris for advice on how to recreate these looks in your own home.

I'm getting extremely excited (for the makeup, but also for the sunshine and dress season). And for those of you who are new to the world of makeup, I'm getting extremely excited.1. For the summer of 2023, instead of going for a look that gives the impression that your entire face is covered in dolphin skin, try mattifying your T-zones and dusting blinding highlighters across your cheekbones. For summer 2023 makeup, expect to see a more strategic glow, according to Harris. You aren't sure whether you should use a powder or liquid highlighter, are you? You should use a liquid highlighter if you want your highlight to look natural and dewy. On the other hand, you should use a powder highlighter if you want your highlight to have the appearance of being pigmented and metallic.2. The trend of black smokey eyes Black, sooty eyes may feel slightly off for summer, but that is also why they look so cool. Black smokey eyes are a trend. According to Harris.3, you can achieve the ideal smudged smokey look for summer by smudging a black eyeshadow stick along both your upper and lower lash lines and then blending the edges with a pencil brush.

Underpainting is a technique that was made popular by celebrity makeup artist Pat McGrath. If you want to achieve a structured graphic look, like what was seen at Alice and Olivia's spring/summer presentation, you can't go wrong with black smokey eyes. BellaIt is a technique in which you draw on your contour and blush underneath your foundation, and it has been going viral on TikTok for months as the reason why celebrities such as Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber's makeup looks so blended. Other celebrities who have been credited with popularizing this technique include Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, and Gigi Hadid. However, according to Harris, you can anticipate that this makeup trend will continue on through the summer. It's the best technique to achieve a seamless and sculpted summer glow without looking like you're wearing a ton of makeup, says celebrity makeup artist Pat McGrath4, who also predicts that lips with two different tones will be a major beauty trend for the year 2023. A basic bright lip? You have the option of using contrasting colors on your top and bottom lips, or you can try your hand at some lip art by first drawing an outline around your lips using one color, and then filling it in with another color.

However, the key to success here is to select a liquid lipstick that dries down rapidly and comes in two different shades

  • Apply the first shade, wait for it to dry completely, and then apply the second shade

  • 5

  • When the temperature outside is extremely high, I will not put on a full face of foundation that has a high level of coverage

  • For this reason, it made me extremely happy to see fresh, dewy skin that was barely covered on the summer runways of 2023

  • My go-to look for the summer will definitely be a sheer skin tint that I will blend with a beauty sponge, and for some color on my cheeks, I will use a light cream blush

  • This is a trend that I can get behind

  • It will be very easy

  • 6

  • Brows that are decked out for the summer If you have been a staunch opponent of the trend toward thinner brows, why don't you try a totally decked-out brow instead

  • It will be very simple

  • Choose a cream glitter or cream neutral eyeshadow palette instead of a loose product to achieve an opaque finish because it does not require as much layering to achieve the same effect

Statement brow "lewks" were legit all over the summer 2023 runways, with glitter block-brows being showcased at Peter Do and intentional slits being shown at Poster Girl. Embellishments and shimmer were a massive summer fashion trend on the runways, but they'll also be adorned to our faces too, asMore is more when it comes to this look, babes, so don't be afraid to try an all-over monochrome look like the one pictured above, but don't be afraid to still decorate your face with face gems and a little glitter on your lips and cheekbones. 8. The pastel eye makeup trend will be popular during the summer of 2023. Bright washes of color across the eyes, such as the look that makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes created here, are one of the major spring makeup trends that will carry over into the summertime. If you feel as though your pastel neutral eyeshadow palette looks chalky and ashy on your skin, pat on your white neutral eyeshadow palette (see game products) base with a shader brush before applying your eyeshadow.9. I haven't been able to stop thinking about the major blush looks that Christian Cowan showed at his spring/summer 2023 show, and I'm especially obsessed with the embellished take that Dove Cameron gave on the trend that is pictured above.

Obviously, I'm going to attempt to recreate the look on my own, so I went backstage to ask Smashbox pro lead makeup artist Lori Taylor Davis how she achieved the look. She suggests selecting a lightweight blush (whether cream or powder), and then applyingAfter that, she recommends using a brush with a fluffy tip to blend the pigment's edges.
